In early fall 2019, LeaseToMe was an early-stage proptech startup in the commercial real estate space. When I had first spoken with founder Justin Baker, the business was purely in the idea phase. Given that the business model was a new concept, it was something that needed to to be made tangible and tested before it could progress to the next level.
Truly turnkey and fully custom developed websites were not initially in the cards as a website with such complexity could cost anywhere from $25,000 – $50,000. Further making such an endeavor unfeasible was the consistently evolving scope of functionality devised for the platform itself. The development process needed to be flexible, agile, and be able and ready to pivot quickly.
